I write to notify and invite all members that the maiden edition of the Dr. Osahon Enabulele Foundation Debate Competition for secondary schools in Edo State shall commence on Friday, 30th May, 2025 beginning with Egor LGA. Time: 10am. The venue is Egor Local Government Council secretariat, Mela Motel Road, Uselu, The School debate competition is an initiative of the Foundation under the Leadership and Governance Strategic Thrust. The competition which is in collaboration with Edo State Government through the Ministry of Education, State Secondary Education Board and Ministry of Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs shall be held in all LGAs, senatorial districts, before the grand finale at the State level. This notice is to request all members to actively participate towards making this maiden edition a remarkable success. More details shall be communicated in due course. Dr. Osahon Enabulele host Edo South Zone of the NMA
The Director General of the Foundation and Past President of the World Medical Association, WMA recently played host to the Executives of the Edo South Zone, of the State Chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA on a courtesy visit. The delegation from the Edo South NMA was led by the Zonal Coordinator, Dr Ivie Ehizonaga and the Zonal Secretary, Dr. Omo-Okhuasuyi Igbinosa. According to the Zonal Coordinator, the visit was to familiarize the newly elected executives with the Past President, WMA and to officially present a copy of the bye-laws recently passed by the Zone. In her opening remarks, Dr Ivie outlined the various programmes/projects to be embarked upon by her administration in the two-year tenure and sought support towards equipping the new zonal secretariat/office. Furthermore, the Zonal Coordinator disclosed that the zone was open to fostering collaboration, and guidance on various initiatives and efforts in advancing the medical profession/professionals in the zone. Responding, the Director General and Past President, WMA congratulated the new executive officers and charged them to initiate programmes to champion pertinent issues that are preeminent in Edo South. The DG tasked the Executive officers to be proactive and consider collaborative endeavours through conscious engagements with major stakeholders in the zone to make a lasting impact across the Edo South Zone. Dr. Enabulele shared historical insights and background of the zone, emphasizing the need for a collaborative approach to addressing peculiar challenges in the healthcare service across Edo South. He tasked the new executives to develop initiatives which would leave lasting legacies in the zone. The highpoint of the visit was the official presentation of the bye-law, (recently reviewed and passed) for the Edo South NMA to Dr. Osahon Enabulele. Overall, Dr. Enabulele expressed his willingness to support the zone, noting that the visit underscored the importance of collaboration in addressing the challenges facing the healthcare sector and medical professionals in the zone. Conclusively, the courtesy visit of the Edo South NMA to the DG, Dr. Osahon Enabulele was a resounding success, marked with fruitful discussions and a renewed commitment to advancing the medical profession and wellbeing of citizens of the zone.
