DR. OSAHON ENABULELE FOUNDATION CHAMPION ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AT MAIDEN WHITE COAT CEREMONY

The Dr. Osahon Enabulele Foundation, DOEF, continue to advance educational development through innovative educational initiatives aimed at attaining academic excellence. The Director General, Dr. Osahon Enabulele, presented awards to deserving medical students. during the maiden White Coat Ceremony. The White Coat Ceremony was put together by the University of Benin Medical Students’ Association (UBEMSA), to celebrate the transition of medical students from preclinical to clinical training. Delivering a stirring address, the Director General, DOEF and past President of the World Medical Association, Dr. Osahon Enabulele, emphasized service to humanity, integrity in medical practice, and resilience, urging students to uphold the ethics and dignity of the profession and undaunting courage in the face of challenges. The event was further enriched by the support and presence of the Dr. Osahon Enabulele Foundation, whose philanthropic commitment to academic excellence, educational development, quality health care, leadership and governance has significantly impacted on the lives of Nigerians, particularly indigenes of Edo State. Awards Presentation to Distinction Medical Students: The highlight of the ceremony was the recognition and presentation of Dr. Osahon Enabulele Foundation Prize & Awards to 5 students for their Outstanding Academic performance (Distinction) in Anatomy, Physiology and Medical Biochemistry. According to the DG, the Foundation places a high premium on Education, which remains the bedrock of Society. He noted that the awards not only acknowledged academic brilliance but also promoted learning and consistent excellence. 🏆 Recipients of the Award include: The high point of the event was the symbolic robing of over 50 students in White Coats. Through its strategic interventions, the Dr. Osahon Enabulele Foundation, which envisions a society where citizens have equitable access to quality healthcare, education, and other societal opportunities, has continued to set the pace in promoting academic excellence and educational empowerment among Nigerians.

STARS ON PARADE AT THE DOEF SECONDARY SCHOOL DEBATE COMPETITION IN IKPOBA-OKHA AND UHUNMWONDE LGAs

The Dr. Osahon Enabulele Foundation Debate Competition, for secondary schools in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Council Hall, was a resounding success. The event showcased the exceptional debating skills and intellectual prowess of students from various secondary schools within the LGA. The competition aimed to promote critical thinking, public speaking, and research skills among secondary school students across Edo State.The participating Schools were Idogbo Grammar School, St. Maria Goretti Girls Grammar School, Army Day Secondary school, Harvard Educational Center of Excellence and Niger College.Debate Format: The competition was characterised by engaging & well-researched arguments with eloquent rebuttals and delivery. The students demonstrated a deep understanding of the debate topic, and the audience was highly engaged throughout the event.The keenly contested event saw Harvard Educational Center of Excellence emerged 1st position with a score average of 84.2%, while St. Maria Gorretti and Niger College clinched 2nd and 3rd positions with at 80.3%, and at 74.4%. UHUMWONDE LGAThe scenario was not different at Ehor for the debate competition in Uhunmwonde LGA, with four schools battling it out for supremacy in presentation. Among the contestants were students from Ehor Grammar School, Igieduma Grammar School, St. Michael, College and Umagbae Secondary School. St. Michael College emerge 1st position, while Umagbae Secondary school and Igieduma Grammar school took the 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.In separate remarks, the Director General of the Foundation, Dr. Osahon Enabulele congratulated the students and reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to improving education and equipping youths with leadership and critical thinking skills is essential for all-round development.

MAIDEN EDITION OF THE DR. OSAHON ENABULELE FOUNDATION DEBATE COMPETITION KICKS OFF IN GRAND STYLE IN EGOR LGA.

The Dr. Osahon Enabulele Foundation Debate Competition for secondary schools gets off to a thrilling and electrifying start in Egor LGA. The event, held in a vibrant and competitive atmosphere, showcased the power of critical thinking, eloquence, and persuasive argumentation. It was an intellectual showdown that brought together some of the brightest young minds in secondary schools. The competition featured students from Asoro Grammar School, Edo Boys High School, Federal Government Girls College, UNIFAC Group of School, Baptist High School, Eghosa Anglican Grammar School and Springfield High School. The debating prowess of the contestants was demonstrated as they marshalled points on the topic: Should Secondary school students share in taking responsibility for Edo State development? if yes, how? If no, why?The debate contest had several rounds of captivating and electrifying moments of strong deposition of thoughts, academic/speaking skills, dynamic exchange of ideas and a remarkable display of confidence. The twenty-one (21) contestants from seven (7) participating schools displayed remarkable confidence, knowledge depth and robust articulation of the subject. The panel of judges comprised seasoned educators, researchers, experienced academic professionals and public speakers who assessed the contestants/participants based on their clarity, logical reasoning, and ability to counter opposing arguments. Over seventy-five students and teachers were part of the audience who were actively involved, cheering for their favourite teams and engaging in post-debate discussions RecognitionAfter several intense rounds, Eghosa Anglican Grammar School (with 78.43%) clinched the 1st position, while Baptist High School and Asoro Grammar School emerged in 2nd and 3rd positions (with 77.69% and 76.83%) respectively. Awards and certificates were subsequently presented by the BOT Chairman, Prof. Dominic Osaghae and Director General, Dr. Osahon Enabulele, to contestants as well as their teachers in recognition of their exceptional performance and supervision. Overall, the competition celebrated not only academic excellence but also encouraged students to refine their public speaking and analytical skills. Among dignitaries at the event were Prof. Dominic Osaghae, Chairman, Board of Trustees, DOEF, representatives of Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI, Edo State Network) and the University of Benin Medical Students Association, UBEMSA, teachers, Journalists, media practitioners. The Dr. Osahon Enabulele Foundation continues to play a pivotal role in fostering intellectual growth and cognitive development among students, ensuring that the spirit of debate remains a cornerstone of quality Education.

COMMENCEMENT OF THE DR. OSAHON ENABULELE FOUNDATION SCHOOL DEBATE COMPETITION

I write to notify and invite all members that the maiden edition of the Dr. Osahon Enabulele Foundation Debate Competition for secondary schools in Edo State shall commence on Friday, 30th May, 2025 beginning with Egor LGA. Time: 10am. The venue is Egor Local Government Council secretariat, Mela Motel Road, Uselu, The School debate competition is an initiative of the Foundation under the Leadership and Governance Strategic Thrust. The competition which is in collaboration with Edo State Government through the Ministry of Education, State Secondary Education Board and Ministry of Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs shall be held in all LGAs, senatorial districts, before the grand finale at the State level. This notice is to request all members to actively participate towards making this maiden edition a remarkable success. More details shall be communicated in due course.
