During the visit, Dr. Enabulele emphasized that the success of the event would not have been possible without the partnership from ITV and the invaluable support from Sir Chief Gabriel Osawarie Igbinedion, the founder and proprietor. “We thought we should come to thank you, to appreciate you, and to say that the level of support you gave us that day and even before it was immeasurable,” he stated. The launch colloquium, which attracted many community members and personalities, was a pivotal event aimed at fostering dialogue on pressing issues facing Nigeria. Dr. Enabulele highlighted the impressive turnout of ITV’s management, including the Managing Director and Executive Director, who were physically present at the event. Dr Osahon Enabulele Dazzles at Late Kate Imuetinyan Obaseki’s Funeral Colloquium

Recognition

It must have been a world stage reminiscence for Dr Osahon Enabulele, as he unlocked his mental valve of medical intellectualism cum Advocacy on topical medical questions in a one man panel of delightful experience. The occasion was the funeral rite/ Colloquium of late Mrs Kate Imuetinyan Obaseki at the Marquee event centre, GRA Benin City. The world renowned medic who was obviously agitated by the saliency of the topics and conscious of the exigencies of them; foregrounded, and emphasized the dialectics of support from family and community as necessary ingredients for dealing with medical challenges; especially grave ones like: idiopathic Pulmonary fibrosis, a highly lethal medical condition that thankfully, is just as rare. He emphasized the need for information and knowledge. He urged health seeking behaviour; regular check ups on health status and so forth to forestall a disease becoming fatal before discovery. The former WMA President, obviously in his elements, as acknowledged by the session’s moderator, no less a medical icon than the world renowned Professor Okonofua, seemed to be reactivated by the question of whether Africa, and Nigeria in particular has the capacity to deal with this kind of medical challenges? Dr Osahon Enabulele translated into medical activism, decried Africa’s non performance in exercising political will and necessary commitment to deal with such emergencies . He lamented Africa’s dearth of research, and failure to take advantage of backward integration to find local panacea to health challenges, especially as most health challenges are environmentally originated. He bemoaned the paltry sum dedicated to health on our national and sub national budgets. The occasion which was a ferment of medical intellection and organic analysis of possible solutions also had medical gurus like Professor Gregory Efosa Erhabor, Prof of Medicine and Consultant Chest Physician as Guest lecturer, as well as Prof. Eruke Elizabeth Egbagbe, Consultant Physician Pulmonologist. Both were on hand to advance the frontiers of medical Science.
